Darkstate

Jagjit Singh played Boston last night. It was a fun show that nominally got started at 6 pm and ended slightly before 10! It didn’t really start until 6:40 or so and had a good 15 minute intermission, though.  The band contained a tabla player, a lower pitched drum player, two guitarists, violin, and Indian flute as well as J. Singh. The solid body guitar player was great, fluidly switching between many styles from imitating a sitar (is there a fuzz box for that), to Eddie Van Halen, to surf music, and part way back to a Malian sound. The flute player was great and also managed to project through the frustrating sound system at John Hancock Hall.
